Gross ticket sales are each tier’s tickets times its price. Net revenue is what is left after the ticketing platform’s fees and any sales tax or VAT already inside the price.

## Results
- Net ticket revenue
- Gross ticket sales
- Ticketing fees
- Tax inside the price
- Tickets issued
- Average price per ticket
- Net revenue per ticket

## Formula

```
Gross = Σ(Tickets × Price);  Tax = Gross × t ÷ (100 + t);  Fees = Gross × Fee% + Paid tickets × Fixed fee;  Net = Gross − Tax − Fees
```

Where:
- t: tax rate included in the price, %
- Fee%: percentage fee charged on ticket value
- Fixed fee: flat fee per paid ticket

## Worked example
1. Gross = 100 × $50 + 50 × $80 + 10 × $0 = $9,000.
2. Fees = 5% × $9,000 + 150 paid tickets × $0.50 = $450 + $75 = $525.
3. Net = $9,000 − $525 = $8,475, or $52.97 for each of 160 tickets.

**Result:** Selling 150 paid tickets and 10 comps brings in $9,000 gross and $8,475 after fees.

## What the result means

Net revenue is what you can put against venue, talent and production costs. If fees are passed on to buyers as a booking fee, set the fee inputs to zero.

## Assumptions and limits
- Percentage fees apply to the ticket price including tax; fixed fees apply only to paid tickets.
- Refunds, chargebacks and payment holds are not modelled.

## Questions

### How do I take VAT out of a ticket price?

Divide by 1 plus the rate. At 20%, a £120 ticket contains £120 × 20 ÷ 120 = £20 of VAT.

### Do complimentary tickets cost anything?

Some platforms charge a fee even on free tickets. Enter that as a small price in tier 3 if so; here fixed fees apply only to paid tickets.
