Harvest revenue is what you sell times the price. Losses after harvest and costs charged per unit sold reduce what you take home.

Also called: Crop revenue calculator, Crop income calculator.

## Inputs
- Area harvested (default 10)
- Area in (options: Acres, Hectares; default acre)
- Yield per acre or hectare (default 25)
- Post-harvest loss (optional) (unit %; default 4; optional)
- Price per unit (default 2200)
- Selling cost per unit (optional) (default 50; optional)
- Other income per acre or hectare (optional) (default 0; optional)
- Currency

## Results
- Net harvest revenue
- Gross revenue
- Selling costs
- Total production (units)
- Quantity sold after losses (units)
- Net revenue per acre or hectare

## Formula

```
Production = Yield × Area;  Sold = Production × (1 − Loss%);  Gross = Sold × Price + Other income × Area;  Net = Gross − Sold × Selling cost
```

Where:
- Yield: units per acre or hectare
- Loss%: post-harvest loss
- Selling cost: cost per unit sold

## Worked example
1. Production = 25 × 10 = 250 q; after 4% loss, 240 q are sold.
2. Gross = 240 × ₹2,200 = ₹5,28,000; selling costs = 240 × ₹50 = ₹12,000.
3. Net = ₹5,16,000, or ₹51,600 per acre.

**Result:** Ten acres at 25 q/acre sold at ₹2,200 bring about ₹5,16,000 after losses and selling costs.

## What the result means

This is revenue, not profit: subtract growing costs to find the margin (see the farm gross margin calculator).

## Assumptions and limits
- All sellable produce is sold at the one price entered.
- Other income is per unit area harvested.
- Does not model price changes during storage or quality discounts.

## Questions

### What counts as post-harvest loss?

Shrinkage in drying, storage losses, pests and handling damage between harvest and sale.

### Can I use bushels or tonnes?

Yes. Use the same unit for yield and price; the calculator works with any unit.
