- m² per unit: 1 sq ft = 0.09290304 m²; 1 cent = 1/100 acre; 1 guntha = 1/40 acre; 1 ground = 2,400 sq ft; 1 tsubo = 400/121 m²; 1 rai = 1,600 m²; 1 mu = 666⅔ m²; 1 dunam = 1,000 m²; 1 feddan = 4,200 m²

## Worked example
1. 1 acre = 4,046.8564224 m² by definition.
2. 4,046.8564224 ÷ 0.09290304 = 43,560 sq ft.
3. In hectares: 4,046.856 ÷ 10,000 = 0.404686 ha.

**Result:** One acre is exactly 43,560 square feet, or about 0.4047 hectares.

## What the result means

Customary units such as the bigha, kanal and marla vary by state or district, so they are left out rather than given a misleading single value. Check the local definition and convert through square feet.

## Assumptions and limits
- International (not US survey) foot: 1 ft = 0.3048 m.
- The dunam is the metric dunam of 1,000 m².
- Results are rounded to six decimal places.
