Loaded pallet height is the pallet itself plus every layer of cartons plus any slip sheets or top caps. Compare it with your racking, trailer or customer limit.

- Carton height (outside) (unit mm; default 250)
- Pallet height (unit mm; default 144)
- Slip sheets, tier sheets and top cap (unit mm; default 0; optional)
- Height limit (including pallet) (unit mm; default 1800)

## Formula

```
Height = Layers × Carton height + Pallet height + Sheets;  Max layers = ⌊(Limit − Pallet − Sheets) ÷ Carton height⌋
```

Where:
- Sheets: total thickness of slip sheets, tier sheets and caps

## Worked example
1. Height = 5 × 250 + 144 = 1394 mm.
2. Headroom = 1800 − 1394 = 406 mm.
3. Max layers = ⌊(1800 − 144) ÷ 250⌋ = ⌊6.62⌋ = 6.

**Result:** Five 250 mm layers on a 144 mm pallet stand 1394 mm tall; a sixth layer would still fit under 1800 mm.

## What the result means

If you have headroom for another layer, check the pallet weight limit and the bottom carton’s compression strength before adding it.

## Assumptions and limits
- All layers are the same height.
- Cartons compress and bulge under load, so the real height can differ by several millimetres.

## Questions

### Does the limit include the pallet?

Here, yes. Racking and vehicle limits are usually for the whole unit load from the floor.

### How many inches is 1800 mm?

1800 ÷ 25.4 = 70.9 inches.
