Type an expression or tap the keys. It follows the standard order of operations, works in degrees or radians, and keeps your last answers in the history.

Also called: Online calculator, Basic calculator, Trig calculator.

## Inputs
- Expression (default 2 × (3 + 4)²)
- Angles in (options: Degrees, Radians; default deg)

## Results
- Result
- Expression read as

## Formula

```
Order of operations: brackets, then functions and powers (right to left: 2^3^2 = 2^9), then × and ÷, then + and −, each left to right.
```

Where:
- π: 3.14159265358979…
- e: 2.71828182845905… (base of natural logarithms)
- x%: x ÷ 100
- n!: 1 × 2 × … × n

## Worked example
1. Brackets first: 3 + 4 = 7.
2. Then the power: 7² = 49.
3. Then multiply: 2 × 49 = 98.

**Result:** 2 × (3 + 4)² = 98.

## What the result means

Results are shown to 12 significant digits, which removes the tiny binary rounding errors computers make (so 0.1 + 0.2 shows 0.3). For exact fractions or step-by-step algebra, use the math solver.

## Assumptions and limits
- Trigonometric functions use the angle mode you choose; inverse functions return angles in that mode.
- A minus sign before a power applies to the whole power: −2² = −4.
- Numbers are double-precision floating point (about 15–16 significant digits). Use the Big Number calculator for exact large integers.

## Questions

### Why does sin(30) give −0.988?

Your calculator is in radians. Switch to degrees: sin(30°) = 0.5.

### What does “2(3)” mean?

A number directly before a bracket, π or a function is multiplied: 2(3) = 6 and 2π ≈ 6.283.

### How do I enter a power?

Use the xʸ key or type ^, for example 2^10 = 1024. x² squares the last number.
