Weighted pipeline is the sum of each opportunity’s amount multiplied by its probability of closing. It turns a raw pipeline into an expected value you can compare with a target.

Also called: Expected revenue calculator, Probability-weighted pipeline.

## Inputs
- Opportunities (amount, probability % — one per line) (default 50000, 10
30000, 40
20000, 75
12000, 90)
- Currency

## Results
- Weighted pipeline
- Total (unweighted) pipeline
- Blended probability
- Pipeline not expected to close
- Opportunities

## Formula

```
Weighted pipeline = Σ(Amountᵢ × Probabilityᵢ ÷ 100);  Blended probability = Weighted ÷ Σ Amountᵢ × 100
```

Where:
- Amountᵢ: value of each open opportunity
- Probabilityᵢ: chance of winning it, usually set by stage

## Worked example
1. 50,000 × 10% = 5,000; 30,000 × 40% = 12,000.
2. 20,000 × 75% = 15,000; 12,000 × 90% = 10,800.
3. Weighted = 5,000 + 12,000 + 15,000 + 10,800 = 42,800 of 112,000 total (38.21%).

**Result:** Four opportunities worth 112,000 have a weighted value of 42,800, a blended probability of about 38%.

## What the result means

Weighted pipeline works best across many deals; for a handful of large deals the outcome is lumpy and the weighted value will rarely match what closes. Calibrate stage probabilities against your own historical win rates by stage.

## Assumptions and limits
- Probabilities are realistic and independent of one another.
- Product names such as Salesforce are trademarks of their owners. This calculator is independent, is not affiliated with or endorsed by any CRM vendor, and uses only the figures you enter.
- Default stage probabilities in a CRM are often generic; uncalibrated probabilities make the weighted value misleading.
- Close dates are ignored: filter the list to one period before pasting.

## Questions

### Where do the probabilities come from?

Most CRMs assign a default probability to each stage. Better: use your historical win rate for deals that reached each stage.

### Is weighted pipeline the same as a forecast?

It is one input. Many teams forecast from rep commits and use weighted pipeline as a cross-check.
