How to use this calculator

  2. Enter or choose end date.
  3. Enter or choose count the end date.
  4. The days updates as you type. Use Copy result or Share to keep it.

Formula

Days=End−Start+(1 if the end date is counted)

Days = End − Start (+ 1 if the end date is counted)

Worked example

  1. 1 January to 31 December 2024 is 365 days later.
  2. Counting both ends adds one day: 366, because 2024 is a leap year.
  3. Of those, 262 are Monday to Friday.

All of 2024 is 366 days, including 262 weekdays.

What the result means

Weekdays do not account for public holidays, which differ by country, state and employer. Subtract your holidays from the weekday count to get working days.

Assumptions and limits

  • If the end date is before the start date, the dates are swapped and a note is shown.
  • Public holidays are not excluded.

Questions

Should I include the end date?

Include it when every day in the range counts, such as hotel nights plus the checkout day, leave days, or a contract that runs “from … to …” inclusive.
