How to use this calculator
- Enter or choose clicks.
- Enter or choose impressions.
- The click-through rate updates as you type. Use Copy result or Share to keep it.
Method
CTR = Clicks ÷ Impressions × 100
- Clicks
- clicks on the ad or link
- Impressions
- times it was shown (the denominator)
Worked example
- CTR = 250 ÷ 10,000 × 100 = 2.5%.
- Impressions per click = 10,000 ÷ 250 = 40.
250 clicks from 10,000 impressions is a 2.5% click-through rate, one click every 40 impressions.
What the result means
CTR measures how relevant and appealing the ad or listing is to the people who saw it. Compare it within the same placement and format; search, display and email CTRs are not comparable.
Assumptions and limits
- Clicks and impressions come from the same report and date range.
- Some platforms count all clicks (including on the profile or “more” link), others only link clicks. Use the same definition when comparing.
Questions
Is email click rate the same as CTR?
Email click rate divides by emails delivered, not impressions. The click-to-open rate divides by unique opens.
