How to use this calculator
- Enter or choose dose from.
- Enter or choose spray volume per tank.
- Enter or choose number of tank loads.
- The product per tank updates as you type. Use Copy result or Share to keep it.
Method
Label dose: Product = Dose per litre × Volume. Strength: Product (ml) = Volume (L) × 1000 × C₂ ÷ C₁; Water ≈ Volume − Product
- C₁
- active-ingredient % of the product
- C₂
- active-ingredient % wanted in the spray
- Volume
- spray volume per tank in litres
Worked example
- Product per tank = 2 ml/L × 15 L = 30 ml.
- Water = 15 L − 0.03 L = 14.97 L; for 4 tanks you need 120 ml of product.
At 2 ml per litre, add 30 ml of product to each 15 L knapsack, 120 ml for four loads.
What the result means
Measure the product with a graduated cylinder or syringe, part-fill the tank with water first, add the product, then top up to volume.
Assumptions and limits
- The product is measured in ml (liquids) or g (powders) per litre, as on the label.
- Liquid product volume adds to the water volume.
- Does not check label limits, re-entry or pre-harvest intervals. The label is the legal instruction for use.
- For a dose per hectare, use the sprayer tank mix calculator.
Questions
What does 25 EC mean?
An emulsifiable concentrate with 25% active ingredient (often w/v). Use 25 as the product strength.
Can I make the spray stronger for better control?
No. Higher than label rates can harm crops, leave illegal residues and speed up resistance.
