How to use this calculator
- Enter or choose monthly search volume.
- Enter or choose expected click-through rate.
- Enter or choose organic conversion rate.
- Enter or choose value per conversion.
- The estimated visits per month updates as you type. Use Copy result or Share to keep it.
Method
Visits = Search volume × CTR; Conversions = Visits × Conversion rate; Value = Conversions × Value per conversion; Annual visits = Visits × 12
- Search volume
- monthly searches for the target keywords
- CTR
- clicks ÷ impressions you expect at your ranking position
- Conversion rate
- conversions ÷ organic sessions
Worked example
- Visits = 12,000 × 8% = 960 a month (11,520 a year).
- Conversions = 960 × 2% = 19.2.
- Value = 19.2 × 150 = $2,880 a month.
At an 8% CTR, 12,000 monthly searches would bring about 960 visits and $2,880 a month at your conversion rate and value.
What the result means
Run it with a low and a high CTR to see a range, and use it to rank keyword opportunities against each other rather than as a promise of traffic.
Assumptions and limits
- Search volume is steady across the year.
- You achieve and hold the ranking that produces the CTR entered.
- No click-through-rate curve is built in: CTR varies widely with search features, brand and intent, so it must come from your own data.
- Keyword tool volumes are estimates and are often rounded or grouped.
